Full Name: Ciera (pronounced Kiera) RobertsonCiera-Robertson-mhd-profile-pic

Nickname: – Cie, Cier, Keek

Birthday: March 20th

Hometown: West Norwood

Qualifications: Diploma in Musical Theatre, Advanced Level in Dance, BTEC National Diploma in Dance, Qualified ISTD Teacher

Experience:  Principal dancer in several high profile pantomimes, lead character and performer in Disneyland Paris, Dancer (The Roxides) for the Loaded Tour, professional dancer at Olympic Park sporting events. Also a Jazz, Tap and Modern Dance Teacher and a Qualified Aerobics Instructor.

I bet you didn’t know: I used to be a Princess in Disneyland Paris (Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel and Blue Fairy).

Favourite Food:  I love lots of food so this is hard question, probably bacon or bread, but then I do like a good roast chicken dinner and cheese and chocolate, oh I can’t choose!

Favourite song:  Michael Jackson – The Way You Make Me Feel.  Puts me in a good mood and I can’t help but dance.

Pet peeve: Being ignored, rude people.

Guilty pleasure:  Cup of tea, duvet day, chocolate and a chick flick.

3 words to describe yourself:  Happy, Hard-Working, Loyal.

Proudest moment: Getting into The Brit School (the best 4 years of my life).  It was definitely a big turning point for me and it was the moment I realised what I wanted to do with my career and one of the main the reasons I still dance today.

Most embarrassing moment:  I was doing the Can Can dance in my Summer Show at my old dance school and while I was dancing I felt something dangling, I then came to the sudden realisation that it was in fact my strap that had snapped and I had no bra on underneath! With that I ran off stage in a panic but my dance teachers quickly tied it in a knot and pushed me back on stage even though I was too embarrassed to go back on stage I had no choice in the matter. I just grinned my way through the rest of the dance and died of humiliation after.

Advice to young dancers:  It is a very hard industry but also the most rewarding. Believe in yourself and be the best you can be. You need determination, a strong mind, able to take rejection and come out on top but most of all be passionate.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a dancer: I’ve always been into fitness, nutrition and the body so maybe a personal trainer/physiotherapist. I’m also interested in how the mind works so maybe something that requires me to read, understand and help peoples mentality. I have always wanted to travel the world too.

Quote you live by:  Feel the fear and do it anyway.  Believe you can and you’re half way there.
